The Slocan Community Library is located in the heart of the Village of Slocan, at the north end of the Health and Wellness Center. The Wellness Center is owned by the Village of Slocan and operated by a dedicated group of volunteers. The building that was once an old school house has been renovated to accommodate a Library, Fitness Center, and Medical Facility. The Library relies on grants, donations, and public memberships to keep it thriving. Donations and memberships can be obtained during regular business hours.

The Library has a well-balanced collection of fiction and non-fiction materials, with outstanding collections in gardening, cooking and mysticism, just to name a few. There are many books for children and young adults, and the CD, DVD, video, and audio books selections are always expanding.
