NOTICE OF ELECTION BY VOTING – 2014 GENERAL LOCAL ELECTION

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the electors of the Village of Slocan that an election by voting is necessary to elect a Mayor and four Councillors for a four-year term and that the persons nominated as
candidates and for whom votes will be received are:

MAYOR – One (1) to be elected
ELLIOTT, Hillary
LUNN, Jessica

COUNCILLOR – Four (4) to be elected
PELLETIER, Joel
MCGREAL, Patricia
MILLERSHIP, Kevin
LITTLEY, Thomas
PERRIERE, Madeleine
PATTERSON, Jean
VAN BYNEN, Burly
BULLER, Ezra

                               ADVANCED VOTING OPPORTUNITY #1: Wednesday, November 5th, 2014 from 8am – 8pm
ADVANCED VOTING OPPORTUNITY #2: Wednesday, November 12th, 2014 from 8am – 8pm
GENERAL VOTING DAY: Saturday, November 15th, 2014 from 8am – 8pm

ALL VOTING OPPORTUNITIES WILL BE HELD AT THE VILLAGE OF SLOCAN, COUNCIL CHAMBERS

Nominations will be received from qualified candidates for the following offices for a four-year term:

MAYOR – ONE (1)

COUNCILLOR – FOUR (4)

SCHOOL TRUSTEE – ONE (1)

From 9:00 a.m. September 30th, 2014 to 4:00 p.m. October 10th, 2014.

Nomination forms are available at the Village Office until close of nomination period.

The Village Office will be open on Friday, October 10th from 1pm – 4pm for the close of nomination period.
NOMINATIONS PACKAGES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER 4:00 PM

Packages can be received by fax or email; originals must be provided to the Chief Election Officer by 4pm on October 17, 2014.

Beginning September 30th until the close of general voting on November 15th, a copy of the list of registered electors will, upon signature, be available for public inspection at the Village Office during regular office hours. Before inspecting the list, a person must sign a statement that they will not inspect the list or use the information included in the list except for the purposes of Part 3 of the Local Government Act.
